Sejer island (Sejerø) - 47DX/SJ006

I got a chance to visit Sejerø island via my job - and why not mix business with pleasure then? :-)

Many years ago I was living at the western part of Sealand island with a view to Sejerø island from my house and I have always dreamt to visit the island. Now I had the chance.
Sejerø is approx. 11 km long and 1 km wide. About 400 residents do live there, and the island hosts an extraordinary wild life.

I knew I would not have much time at the island for radio, obviously depending at the time spent at the job. The job had first priority.
Sejerø is far away from "everything" and accessible only via a ferry from Sealand island's west coast. Last time the island was "on air" was back in 2009, activated by 47DX132 Carsten and also a one-day activation.

I had a 2 hours drive from home to Havnsø from where the Ferry sails. Soon after arrival at Havnsø the ferry arrived; 1 hour later I arrived at Sejerø. I did drive around the island, looking for a good TX-site and finally decided to stay at the most southern tip of Sejerø.

Starting around 13:00 local (11:00 GMT) and the Bamby11 set up in full height but no DX-propagation, only working a few local Danish station. After some time finally propagation picked up and I did log some stations from France and Spain.

Then It was time for working so I had to stop at radio. I came back at radio around 14:05 GMT and gladly I noticed that propagation was OK to Europe.
Some time later I had to stop as I didn't want to miss the ferry back to Sealand.
Weather was fine, warm and windy. The island is a fantastic place, super wildlife and spectacular views from all around the island. I was really enjoying this trip visiting Sejerø island - I am sure I will come back.
