Guideline: Official Club Activation Callsign

At this page you will find our Guidelines to obtain a Delta-Xray activity callsign.

Please refer to Definitions and Intentions for more information.

Before running an Official Club Activation, please read, fill in and send this contract - to 26DX047 Darran (26DX047@Delta-Xray.net). Thanks.

0: Activity Proofs
Activations from DXCC-group 1 and DXCC-group 2, see "TOP MW", must
be followed up by extremely solid proof and documentation.

Proof for activities from DXCC-group 3, see "TOP MW", are strongly recommended,
in order to secure that no one ever will accuse neither you and DXRC for fake activities.

Proof and documentation for an activity has to be shown and presented in order to secure that DXRC is in good standard to the 11-meter community. All Delta-Xray activities will be validated for proofs by both DXRC HQ and in the future a special Validation Team. This special team is called AVT (Activity Validation Team) and is not nessesarily related to DXRC HQ.

1: Activity callsign
Delta-Xray HQ must be applied at least 5 days before an activity is held, in order to secure that correct callsign is issued for the activity.
If HQ is not asked at least 5 days before an activity will take place, there are no guarantees that an activity callsign will be issued.
A portable callsign can then be used.

1b:
An activity callsign is a special callsign, issued for a special activity.
Traditional DX-activations can apply for a activity callsign for activities from DXCC-group 1 and DXCC-group 2 activity.
The club also issue callsigns for Island-activations (IOTA, N/V & IWI Islands On The Air).

1c:
DXRC believe - in general - that 11-meter band has too many irrelevant activities. Among this we find LOTA-activity (Lighthouses On The Air) and COTA (Castles On The Air). In case LOTA and/or COTA will become more popular than we see today, and more operators are interested into this, DXRC HQ might change opinion.

1d:
Other kinds of SES-activities (Special Event Stations), like "Happy Birthday", "Sports events" etc. are, according to DXRC HQ, not good for our band, as they cause unnessesary QRM and takes up frequencies, which then not are available for normal QSO. DXRC HQ does not issue SES-callsigns.

2: Portable callsigns
All stations can use portable callsigns (examples: 307/13DX032 and 30/13DX032/E317) without first optaining permission from DXRC HQ.
Portable callsigns do not need to be approved before they are used.
Portable callsigns can be used for all DXCC's.

2b:
A portable callsign should never be used for DXCC-group 1 and DXCC-group 2 activity, however in case of short notice this is acceptable.

2c:
If a portable callsign is used from a DXCC-group 1 or DXCC-group 2, please notify HQ (best via e-mail) as soon as possible, preferrable before the callsigns is used on air and no later than 24 hours after the callsign is used on air for the first time.

2d:
Please read the Guidelines concerning "Solid Proof." Please allways consider appropriate and solid proof for our Proof-section, in order to secure a good standard for our club. Please notice that we provide proofs for not only our closest friends and members of DXRC - but for the entire 11-meter bands operators.
Therefore proof must be extremely solid.

3: xxxDX/0 - callsigns
xxxDX/0 callsigns will be issued to the first 11-meter activation to a DXCC ever.
See DXCC-group 1 at "TOP MW" as reference.

3b:
The same xxxDX/0 callsign can be issued to several teams, when several teams wants to activate the same DXCC. The team activating the DXCC first has the final rights to the callsign.

3c:
No later than 2 months after an activity's enddate DXRC HQ must have solid proof for the activity.
In case the proofs are validated and accepted by DXRC HQ (not the same as the activation is final approved), the activations callsign is blocked and will not be accepted to other activations from this DXCC.

In case the proof received is not accepted by DXRC HQ, the activation callsign can be used by other teams.

3d:
In case of several teams claims the same callsign (xxxDX/0) DXRC HQ can judge.

3e:
When a DXCC has been activated, validated and accepted by both DXRC HQ and AVT, the xxxDX/0 callsign can not be issued to this DXCC anymore.

4: xxxDX/1 - callsigns
xxxDX/1 callsigns can be issued to stations activating a group-2 DXCC, when this is DXRC's first (1st) activation from the DXCC.

5: xxxDX/2, /3, /4..../9 - callsigns
xxxDX/2 callsigns can be issued to stations activating a "Part 2" DXCC from "TOP MW" list, when this is Delta-Xrays second (2nd) activation from the DXCC.

xxxDX/3 callsigns can be issued to stations activating a "Part 3" DXCC from "TOP MW" list, when this is Delta-Xrays third (3rd) activation from the DXCC.

xxxDX/4 callsigns can be issued to stations activating a "Part 4" DXCC from "TOP MW" list, when this is Delta-Xrays fourth (4th) activation from the DXCC.

xxxDX/5 callsigns can be issued to stations activating a "Part 5" DXCC from "TOP MW" list, when this is Delta-Xrays fith (5th) activation from the DXCC.

xxxDX/6 callsigns can be issued to stations activating a "Part 6" DXCC from "TOP MW" list, when this is Delta-Xrays sixth (6th) activation from the DXCC.

xxxDX/7 callsigns can be issued to stations activating a "Part 7" DXCC from "TOP MW" list, when this is Delta-Xrays seventh (7th) activation from the DXCC.

xxxDX/8 callsigns can be issued to stations activating a "Part 8" DXCC from "TOP MW" list, when this is Delta-Xrays eight (8th) activation from the DXCC.

xxxDX/9 callsigns can be issued to stations activating a "Part 9" DXCC from "TOP MW" list, when this is Delta-Xrays nineth (9th) activation from the DXCC.

5b:
When a Delta-Xray team is activating a DXCC as xxxDX/0 the team also has the rights to the callsign xxxDX/1.
It is expected that the callsign xxxDX/1 then will not be used.

6: QSL route
We recommend the operators to give the full QSL-route (managers address) on air, at least 3 times every hour. This is to secure that the address is public for all, not only those having internet- connection.

7: First at activation
An activation callsign, for instance 342DX/0 can only be used, when the activation is the first to activate this DXCC (for instance 342).

7b: Another team first - from another club
If a callsign is issued, for instance 342DX/0, and a team from another club will be first at 342, HQ must cancell/anull the callsign 342DX/0.
Instead next callsign in line must be used (for instance 342DX/1) - or portable callsign can be used.
In case Delta-Xray team can begin activation transmision within less than 6 hours after the other team, xxxDX/0 callsign can still be used.

7c: Another team first or several teams from Delta-Xray Radio Club arrive at same time
In case an issued callsign can not be used because another team from Delta-Xray will be "at the spot" first, the team must use next callsign in line (for instance xxxDX/2) or portable callsign.
In case the team can begin activation transmision within less than 6 hours after the other team, The isued callsign can still be used. Then all teams use the same callsign.
Progressive numbers must then be used by both teams, and the progressive numbers must be given as 1-s, 2-s, 10-s, 243-s for one team and 1-n, 2-n, 10-n, 243-n for the other team. The teams descide letter for themselves, however we recommend "N" for North-team and "S" for South-team etc.

8: Callsigns issued, used and activations done:
When a team has used an activations callsign from either DXCC-group 1 or DXCC-group 2, and the activations is approved, the callsign can never ever more be issued.

8b:
xxxDX/10 is only activation callsign that can be used - and re-used.

9: Information security:
All known information at DXRC HQ and AVT must not - and will not - be abused.

9b:
In case a team ask for the same xxxDX/x callsign as another team has asked for, DXRC HQ will (if possible) inform the team going as "team number 2" about the other teams general travel plans.
This can be done by HQ in order to secure, that a team will not plan an activation in order to use a specific callsign, and then later learn, that they will not be able to use the desired callsign.
DXRC HQ can, in these cases, descide to inform both teams.

10: Questions/problems
In case of non-agreement Delta-Xray HQ can judge.
