Story 161DX/P179 Story from 161DX/P179 activity. Ewa’s Island is located on Bladzim lake about 85 km north from our QTH. After our last trip to F 093 we were really disappointed because due to the poor propagation only few stations had been logged. This fact made me frustrated and I decided to resign from doing any more islands this year. After some days I noticed that conditions were going up day by day .Simultaneously I found new, never activated island P 179 – very nice secluded place with the access only by boat. Because of the fact that it was possible to rent the boat there, together with Ewa we make decision to try again. Sunday 16th was a fantastic nice sunny day. After arriving at the lake shore we transferred all equipment to boat and rowed to the island. I was an engine and Ewa was my navigator ?. Next stages were landing on Ewa’s Island and assembling our station – I switched my Alinco on and nice surprise – a lot of calls on 555. On Ewa's Island we had fantastic wx , nice lake and first of all : nice conditions ...!! I suppose it was first time I made contact with 2 and 43 div from an island activity :-). 43SD280 with rep 5/9++ uff , it was worth to wait ... 2 , 3 div in my log as well .. I am sad that this time no prop from UK. so I miss Darran 047:-( , as I remember, a lot of friends have been logged : Christian 401 , John 101 , Lief 054, 47dx002 and many others .
