Story 19DX/LB002 Story from 19DX/LB002 activity. Hello everyone, Compared to my previous island activations, Kessel island is probably the most beautiful. Kessel island lies only 800m from my house. After some planning and arranging the Friday before the activation, with the boat to Kessel island, rowed there to watch and make preparations for the activity the following Saturday. Saturday morning radio, antenna, tower, 2 batteries, fish barrow, (where I could easily make a table) and chair were packed in the boat, and I rowed to the island. When I arrived everything quickly out of the boat. On Kessel island there are living beavers as you can see on the pictures. They already did some work for me, cutting some trees to anchor the tower at. Building up the antenna was not easy because of all the tall shrubs and trees, after about 20mins Skypper was completed (normally takes 5mins only) and first try out was with Darran 26DX/L003 which were active on 520 and it was 5/5 both way's and everything was OK. Quick QSY to 495, and there was as always John 47DX101, again LAT/LON coordinates exchanged and time and I could start. Soon I had a real pileup and after 3½ hours I went QRT with 137 station in the log from 29 countries.
