Story 207/19DX012 ![]() I got a inventation from a radiofrend on 207 division somewhere in september 2014 to visit him. After staying a week on 347 division i took a local flight to 207 division for week with Insel Air. Flight from 347 to 207 division took about 1 hour and 30 minutes with a distance from 900 km (559 miles). 207 division is a pretty small island with many mountens/hills and is split up into the DXCC`s 166 & 207 division. The island is lying in the Caribean sea with beautifull beaches and 365 days in the year between the 26 and 32 celcius (78.8 to 89.6 Fahrenheit). Local people are helpfull to tourists i found out. During my staying there i had access to a Kenwood TS-570 with a 5/8 wave vertical Solarcon imax 2000 and a 2 elements directional Moxon antenna (HPSD). In my morning time when the sun came up the the band opens in 15 minutes from nothing to 5/5, 5/9 signals from EU. When i gave a call on 27.555 and qsy to 27.485 USB the pile up where enormous. On the end of the morning EU where fading out fast in 20 min. Then North America fill the band. In the afternoon sometimes some local sporadic E skip and later some pacific stations and south america. My intension where to make much as posseble qso`s during my staying oin 207 division. And also to do some digital mode with the PC program ROS. I found out that when i try to connect the labtop to the radio (Kenwood TS-570) for the digital mode there where some technical problems. So i just made only a few digital contacts. In the small week i visit 207 division i also did some site seeing and would like to return someday to Saint Martin for a longer stay. I would like to thank all the stations calling me and have the patience to listning before calling blindly. 207/19DX012 made 641 QSO`s in 53 DXCC`s: 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 , 6 , 9 , 10 , 12 , 13 , 14 , 15 , 16 , 18 , 19 , 20 , 21 , 22 , 23 , 24 , 26 , 27 , 29 , 30 , 31 , 32 , 34 , 35 , 47 , 49 , 50 , 56 , 68 , 69 , 91 , 102 , 104 , 108 , 109 , 137 , 153 , 161 , 163, 164 , 165 , 173 , 195 , 233 , 285 , 317 , 327 , 328 , 329 , 347. For those who made this possible: 19AT032 Menno 19AT027 Frits 207AT364 Eric and The Delta-Xray radio club for all their support. Thank you ! Dimitri 19DX012 return |
