Story 26DX/N005
Story from 26DX/N005 activity. After moving from Holme isl. (26DX/N017), within 20 minutes we were on air from Holme Pierrepont island with callsign 26DX/N-005. First in log was John 101, quickly followed by 47DX132 Carsten, Soren 47DX002, 47PL122 Arne, 26DX059 Bill, 26AT111 Mark, pileup was very healthy for quite a while. QTH on N005 was chosen on North East tip of the island, just behind us was a section of river which was used for " white water " Sports, throughout the afternoon many teams of people came down the river in full wet suits, protective head gear etc, Sean talked to a few of the guys afterwards and apparently it was some sort of " training " course, looked great fun, see 26DX/N005 video (02:34sec). Anyway propagation was fun, most of EU was worked via BS, band was wide open to North America, it was hard to keep a frequency due to the SD Contest operating within the band plan of .500 - .600, but hey I'd rather have plenty of QRM that no prop at all. 26DX/N-005 started at 11:00utc, last in log at 13:41utc was my good friend Phil 14DA028. 113 stations were logged. At this point we proceeded to move all equipment back on N017. Thanks to all stations which worked us. 73 de..Darran 26DX047......and Sean. return |
