Story 26NB/N004 Story from 26NB/N004 activity. The day started so well with the Sun shining and not so much traffic on the roads.The drive to Tophill was approximately 50 minutes and on arriving I assembled the bamby and started to take some pictures/video etc for proof. 1st problem was the area I was transmiting from is designated a nature reserve and the warden was not too happy with the bamby so I had to take it down. OK no problem. Using now Sirio Megawatt 4000 mobile antenna. I make my first call at 1307z and 104RC101 Laurent is first in the log but tells me I am not sounding too good. Hmm - checked all leads and ok so then I checked voltage of battery. Oh dear ..... 12.2V. Seems the new battery is no good as I charged it the night before. Switched to the vehicle battery so now running only 50w. Conditions were quite good for 30 minutes then zzzzzzzzzzzzz. 26NB/E004 QRT 1615z with 13 contacts/4 DXCC.
