Story 47DX/JY008 The story of 47DX/JY008. The Team was 47DX019 Henrik, 47DX052 Tom, XYL Annet, 47DX132 Carsten and XYL Susanne. Friday the 3. june we all meet at 47DX132 Carsten’s home. We drove to Kalundborg and travelled by ferry to Samsoe Island, arrival time was around 12:00. After visiting the local supermarket we got the keys for the rented house. In the afternoon we put up the 2 antennas - 1 Skypper and 1 Bamby – we did also set up a Yaesu FT1000MP and a couple of computers with access to the internet via Mobil broadband. The internet access was not very good, after testing the setup we worked some stations that evening. Saturday we active from around 04:30 UTC but the propagation was very low, on checking the log at 19:15 we had managed to log 213 stations. Sunday we started around 05:00 UTC and until 10:30 UTC we only logged 7 stations – the propagation was not in our favour, so we decided to close down the 47DX/JY008 activation and go home 8 hours earlier than we had planned – anyway we did have a nice trip and it was nice for me and Carsten that our wive’s had the courage to go along with us on the trip.
