Story 75TSW/AZ002
Story from 75TSW/AZ002 activity held during June 2009. Hello DXers For over 3 years now that I have been inactive in Radio. Besides the sporadic activity of 75tsw/az001 (Santa Maria Isl.) where I try to go every year, for holidays, radio has become one of the bottom priorities. A few weeks ago, my good good friend Chris, 21DX116, started his hard quest to convince me to participate in the event. It happened to be on a weekend where I was available and so it was. Propagation conditions were very instable but there were times of very good signals. In general, the signals were most of the time below S - 5, also I had local QRN which made it difficult some times. I thank all the patient operators for repeating as many times I needed. As it was impossible to be all the time in radio, I managed only to be active for short periods. Still, I believe that 144 logged stations was very good. I used an IC 706, barefoot. The antenna is a commercial 5/8 vertical and that was all. Most of the time I wore headphones, and that helps pick up week signals. I am sorry for using .597 I tried other decimals but it was impossible, so as I announced .600 I tried to keep as close as possible, and also to avoid the QRM. Special thanks for DXRC for all their support and cooperation, also thank you to all of you who called me, and of course thanks to my family, as they are always who bare with me and my radio "fanaticism" ;-) Vy 73's Rick 75TSW134 return |
