30DX/N196 - La Ballena Island

Welcome to the information page of 30DX/N196 La Ballena Island

This page is mainly made to offer log-search, and general information.

NOTE FROM THE TEAM:

After that activation, and checking a very detailed map of the area, I realised that the QTH from our activity as 30DX/N196 was not really placed on N196 La Ballena island, but on another place, island like, called Punta de Sonabia and popularly known as "La Ballena", which is placed a few kilometers West from La Ballena island.
See the maps:

Regrettably Punta Sonabia has not got a DIE reference yet, although it could be considered as an island as well, but at this time it can only be considered N-n/v.

I will apply to the DIE comitee for Punta de Sonabia to be given a new reference, showing all the pictures we took from our activation in 2008.
And maybe in July 2009 the Invoker Team will activate the real N-196...stay tuned !

Regards
Christian 401

Due to propagation's low cycle, the Invoker Team has decided not to go too far this year and between the 22nd July and 29th July, they have decided to activate a few islands on the North coast of Spain.

The activation schedule will not be decided until the team arrives to the area as it all depends on WX conditions.
